About My Assisted Home
We are a family-owned company based in Suffolk, not far from Silicon Fen, and we built Myah for families first.
Jon and Trevor met at school fifty years ago and learnt how to code together. For the last twenty years they have shared a passion for home automation, and for the last ten they have used all sorts of technology for something that matters: supporting their own parents, and older friends. My Assisted Home grew out of that experience, and out of Smart Ageing, a blog on technology-supported living that Jon started a decade before the company existed.

Why we built Myah
Over the years, we have each supported our parents through times when life becomes more difficult. We learnt that this is the hardest moment to introduce something new. Even simple ideas, like a pendant alarm, raise doubts: will it be worn, will it be charged, will it be pressed when it matters?
That taught us the most important lesson behind Myah: the best time to welcome this kind of help into a home is well before a fall or health issue, while it can be actively chosen rather than as a crisis decision.
So we designed Myah to be genuinely useful every day: weather, bin days, a friendly panel to glance at over breakfast. Something worth having on its own terms, from day one. Behind it, there’s a discreet safety net of activity monitoring. And uniquely, everything stays local to the home: private and secure, on a hub you own.
Smart homes and monitoring belong together
The best smart homes do not swap a button on the wall for a button on a phone. They sense where people are and remove the need for buttons altogether. Convenient for anyone โ and transformative for someone who finds moving around harder than they used to.
Activity monitoring and smart home automation are built on the same technology, and we believe they belong in one system. That is why Myah is built on a flexible platform, and why practical new assistance, like smart heating, will keep arriving.
The team
My Assisted Home is a family-owned company, led by two friends who met at school fifty years ago.
Jon, Founder & MD
Twenty years of home automation experience, including ten years using telecare technology to support family and older friends. Jon leads the product, and personally runs every demo call and installation.
Trevor, Co-founder and Technology Lead
Twenty years of home automation, and plenty of hands-on experience helping his own parents get comfortable with technology. Trevor builds the software that makes Myah work.
Melody, Finance
Melody keeps the numbers lined up, and as Jon’s wife and a co-owner of the company, she has a family stake in doing it properly.
Erol, Design
Web design and graphics, from the website you are reading to the dashboards our customers see every day. Jon and Erol go back 30 years.
We are also supported by two university students working on Myah’s analytics:
Aidan
Studying Computer Science at the University of Glasgow and developing Myah’s analytics engine.
Erin
Studying Physics at Durham University and working on analytical techniques and visualisation, which will be powered by the analytics engine.
