No cameras or microphones	Some recommend installing cameras that can be activated without the resident knowing. Cameras only give a snapshot and are not suitable for bathrooms where falls are more common.
Nothing to wear	Push buttons are cheap but rely on the person to wear them, which many people don’t like. They put the onus of alerting on the person wearing it.
Family controls who has access	You can set people up with the app for full information or email only for those who only need alerts. All the activity information stays on the hub in the home, it isn’t in the cloud.

Will my parent feel watched?

The sensors detect movement, not identity. There are no cameras or microphones inside the home. Your parent sees their own dashboard and can understand exactly what’s being tracked; which makes a significant difference to how they feel about it. Their activity information stays in their house, on the hub they own – My Assisted Home is designed for privacy.

Does Myah detect a fall?

Myah can detect inactivity after a fall. Some wearables say they detect a hard fall, but if someone slumps to the floor (soft fall) they may not detect it. Inactivity resulting from a soft fall can be detected by Myah. Myah is not an emergency response service.

What happens in an emergency?

My Assisted Home will alert you as soon as the inactivity limit you set is reached – so you can call them or ask a neighbour to check in. We don’t have a 24/7 professional response centre. If your parent has already had a fall or has significant health concerns, a personal alarm pairs well alongside us – they handle the crisis response, we handle the day-to-day picture.

What if my parent isn’t tech-savvy?

The parent dashboard is designed to be read, not operated. It updates itself. There’s nothing to click, nothing to remember; and crucially, nothing to wear. Many of our users’ parents are in their 80s and don’t do tech.

Can I check activity when I’m away?

Yes. People you choose can see the information wherever they have a connection.

Do I own the equipment?

Yes. You buy the equipment outright rather than rent it, it keeps the subscription cost low.

What if Myah isn’t right for us?

There is a 30-day return period for the starter kit equipment, subject to applicable terms.
